Marc CHAPAUD

la biographie

Marc Chapaud was born on July 31 1941 in Paris.

He studied at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris from 1958 to 1962.

After participating in several workshops, he left the Parisian art school in 1962. Marc Chapaud took part in numerous exhibitions in France and abroad.

Marc Chapaud’s works are striking for their power, sensitivity and technical perfection.

Particularly his landscapes of Tuscany or Venice; the locales are represented with extreme precision.

An adventurer always in search of new landscapes, Marc Chapaud is considered one of the leaders of the new French figurative school, thanks in part to his exceptional painting technique and his beautiful glazes.

Marc Chapaud tries to convey a certain reality of things with deep and immanent emotions.

His colours so subtle, flooded with silver light or rare shades like his translucent blue, compel us to admiration.

He incorporates the calm and sensitivity of romantic poetry into his landscapes.
