Arsen was born in Yerevan in 1971 and died in 2004.
An Armenian sculptor, he worked with bronze and cast iron. He graduated from the Yerevan Academy of Arts. He was a member of the Russian and Armenian Painters’ Unions, and a member of the UNESCO International Federation of Painters. Since 1993, he took part in over 30 exhibitions.
His sculptures can be found in museums and private collections in many countries. He lived and worked in St. Petersburg.
All drawn from the artist’s imagination, the sculptures show masked faces, harmonious bodies, graceful postures and expressive and precise gestures.
Arsen Avetissian brought out the body language of his figures, as if the sculptures were in motion.
